Small Businesses Make Better Communities
Small Businesses Are Our Neighbors, and Friends!
Why are we talking about small businesses now?
For over half a century, the first week of May has been declared National Small Business Week – a time designated by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for honoring America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. Small businesses help communities thrive. Vested in the interests of their customers, they are passionate promoters of all things local. Look at the town close to you; if it has a vibrant business district with successful small businesses you probably will also find the community overall is successful. Young families choose to raise children here. A better tax base means the town’s water, roads, and other infrastructure are in better shape. Healthcare and other services exist for the betterment of all. And when we support small local businesses, we are keeping dollars local to ensure these things.
To celebrate, we’re highlighting some of the small businesses we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years and explaining their various roles in our community. Consider the valuable services they offer, and consider using one of them — or another small local business — in the future
